Maya Haddi began her
formal academic training in Israel at the Rimon School of Music. There,
she explored Israeli and world music as well as jazz performance. Her extensive
world travels eventually brought her to Boston, where she enrolled at the
Berklee College of Music, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in songwriting.
She studied American popular music and worked
to develop her own unique style of songwriting. She did this by combining
her Israeli background with such international musical influences as Alanis
Morissette, Annie Lennox, Billie Holiday, and Ofra Haza.
At present, she performs throughout the Los
Angeles area with her band, which blends rock with pop and jazz influences.
Recently, she also began writing and recording for TV and independent films.
In 1999, her singing was featured on the soundtrack for the film No Regrets,
composed by Sharon Farber. |
