Joel
D. Pressman, baritone, has performed on Broadway, been principal soloist
with many major Los Angeles choral organizations, sung at Kennedy Center
in Washington, D.C. and the Lincoln Center in New York, and
studied or performed with such world renowned conductors as Robert Shaw,
Charles Hirt, Roger Wagner, William Hall, Jane Hardester, William Hatcher,
Helmut Rilling, Michael Tillson Thomas and more. He currently serves as
Cantorial Soloists for Wilshire Boulevard Temple, where he has sung for
10 years. Prior to that, Mr. Pressman was High Holiday Cantor for Temple
Beth Am for over 20 years.
With
a Master of Music degree in Choral Music and a Bachelor of Music degree
in Vocal Performance, Mr. Pressman is in frequent demand as baritone soloist
and as a choral clinician. Several of his essays on music teaching have
been published in VocalEase Magazine, a national periodical for for choral
directors, and he is editor of the Sacred Jewish Choral Music Series published
by Laurendale Music. He has served as Chairperson and Director of Vocal
Music for 26 years at Beverly Hills High School. |
