Biography of
Jamie Papish
Jamie Papish began playing
Arabic style hand percussion in 1998.  A
student of master Arabic drummer Souhail Kaspar, Jamie has immersed himself
in the world of Middle Eastern percussion and music. Jamie is currently
a percussionist for The Yuval Ron Ensemble, UCLA Near East Ensemble, MESTO
(Multi-Ethnic Orchestra and Chamber group) led by Dr. Nabil Azzam and has
founded his own LA based ensemble of ethnic musicians playing Arabic Classics.
He regularly performs with his wife, Melanie Kareem and her Middle Eastern
Dance Company as well as for concerts and parties. |
