| Ilizabeth
Gilbert, Education Director, received her B.A. in Music and M. Ed. from
UCLA where she was a student of Sheridon Stokes, and holds her M.M. from
California State University, Northridge, where she studied with David Shostac.
She is currently the principal flutist with the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony
and has been an instrumental music teacher in the public school system
for the past 11 years. As Educational Director for the LAJS she has
developed outreach programs for students in both the Los Angeles Jewish
Day Schools and Hebrew Schools. Ilizabeth is the Co-Director of the "Los
Angeles Education through the Arts Project," an affiliate of the Bernstein
Education through the Arts Fund, and is a National Teaching Artist with
the Leonard Bernstein Center in Nashville, TN. |
